Clip Generation & Batch Processing

Generate platform-optimised video clips from your podcast moments, batch process multiple clips at once, and customise the look with brand templates.

1. Generate a single clip

On your episode's clip plan page, click Generate on any clip card. Choose your target platform (this sets the aspect ratio — 9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, 16:9 for X/Twitter, 1:1 for LinkedIn). Toggle captions on/off and select a brand template if you have one.

2. Batch generate all clips (Agency+)

Agency and Enterprise users can use the batch bar at the top of the clip plan to select all (or specific) clips and generate them in one go. Punchline processes up to 5 clips concurrently per user. You'll see a live progress bar and get a browser notification when everything's ready.

3. Download your clips

Once generated, download individual clips or use the batch bar to download all at once. Video sources produce MP4 files; audio-only sources produce MP3. For video, you can download both formats.

4. Brand templates

Agency and Enterprise users can create brand templates to customise clip appearance: font family and size, caption position and animation (word highlight, word background), custom watermark overlay, waveform visualiser style and colours. Set a default template to auto-apply to all new clips.

5. Inline style overrides

Pro+ users can override brand template settings on a per-clip basis without changing the saved template. Adjust font, colours, caption position, or animation for individual clips directly from the clip card.

What aspect ratios does Punchline generate?

9:16 for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts; 16:9 for X/Twitter; 1:1 for LinkedIn. Select the target platform when generating and the correct ratio is applied automatically.

Do generated clips have a watermark?

Starter users get their first upload watermark-free. Lite users get the first 3 episodes watermark-free. Pro and above always produce watermark-free clips.

Can I generate clips in bulk?

Yes — Agency and Enterprise users can batch generate all clips for an episode in one go, with up to 5 clips processing concurrently.

What format are the generated clips?

Video source files produce MP4 clips; audio-only sources produce MP3. You can download both formats when the source is a video file.
