Punchline supports MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV, and WebM files up to 3 hours long. Both audio-only and video files work — video sources get platform-optimised MP4 clips with captions.

Transcription typically takes 2-3 minutes for an hour-long episode. AI analysis runs immediately after and usually completes in under 2 minutes. You'll get a browser notification when your clip plan is ready, even if you've navigated away.

Punchline classifies each clip into one of 7 moment types: Surprising Fact, Hot Take, Emotional Beat, Humour, Compelling Argument, Story Climax, and Actionable Insight. Each type maps to the platforms where it performs best — for example, Hot Takes tend to do well on X/Twitter and LinkedIn.

Every clip gets a suitability score (1-5) for TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and Instagram Reels. Scores are based on the clip's moment type, length, and content style.

Yes. For video source files, Punchline generates platform-optimised MP4 clips with the correct aspect ratio (9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, 16:9 for X, 1:1 for LinkedIn). You can add captions, brand templates, and waveform visualisers. Audio-only sources produce MP3 clips.

Pro users and above can translate transcripts and clip copy to 20+ languages with one click. The AI produces natural, context-aware translations — not word-for-word. Translated captions can be burned into generated video clips.

The Starter plan is completely free — no credit card required. You get 3 episodes per month with full AI analysis, 7 moment type classification, 5-platform scoring, and JSON/CSV export. Your first upload gets clips without watermark.

Pro (£19/mo) gives you 10 episodes per month, watermark-free clips, branded captions, translation to 20+ languages, analytics and performance tracking, shareable clip links, and up to 3 re-analyses per episode. 10 GB storage with 30-day clip retention.

Agency (£69/mo) includes everything in Pro, plus a multi-show dashboard for managing multiple podcasts or clients, brand templates with custom fonts, colours, and waveforms, batch processing, unlimited re-analyses, 50 GB storage, and 90-day clip retention.

Enterprise (£149/mo) includes everything in Agency, plus full API access with pl_-prefixed keys, white-label output (no Punchline branding on shared clips and exports), custom moment types, priority support, 200 GB storage, and unlimited clip retention.

Yes. All paid plans are month-to-month (or annual with 20% savings) with no lock-in. Cancel from your billing settings at any time. Your account reverts to the free Starter plan at the end of your billing period.

After reviewing your initial clip plan, you can re-analyse with different settings — adjust clip count (fewer/more), clip length (shorter/longer), or focus on a specific moment type. Starter gets 1 re-analysis per episode, Pro gets 3, and Agency/Enterprise get unlimited.

Yes. All data is stored in Supabase with row-level security. Source files are encrypted at rest and automatically deleted after 7 days. We never share your content with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Enterprise users get full programmatic access via API keys. Upload, transcribe, analyse, and export without the web UI. Keys use the pl_ prefix and support Bearer token authentication. See our API Access guide for details.
